Zayn Malik is only 23 years old and is already making HUGE waves across the world with his debut solo single Pillowtalk. Not only has it just been announced as the new number one song on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, it’s also now number one in Australia as well!
In addition, he’s managed to secure some amazing record achievements! Zayn now accompanies Adele and Elton John as the only U.K. artists to debut at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. Pillowtalk is also now the 25th song to debut on the charts as well. We told you here that Pillowtalk also debuted at number one on Official Charts as well – this single is blowing the minds of people across the board, and the globe.
The single breaking records like it has is pretty monumental when you think about music history entirely, and how many achievements Pillowtalk has already earned and it’s barely been out for two weeks!
U.S. radio also seems to be gobbling up the song; it’s already had over 3,143 spins! Spotify numbers also show Zayn at the top of the worldwide charts and that alone shows how powerful the song is doing in terms of streaming.
Regarding longevity, Pillowtalk will most likely end up going Platinum in the U.S. due to it’s down-tempo R&B flavor and could even snatch a Platinum certification in the U.K. as well.
Many urban stations will be adding the song to their catalog over time, so don’t fret! Pillowtalk is set to stay for the year, and it’s only going to keep rising from here! Who knows, could Zayn manage a Grammy nod for Best New Artist?
