Zoe Sugg has had quite the week! With the release of her ‘Sweet Inspirations’ range and her WHSmith book club starting, you’d think that would be enough, right? Wrong.
Zoe has just announced the news in her latest vlog that many of her viewers had been hoping for; a third Girl Online book is in the making!
The previous two books Girl Online and Girl Online: On Tour have had incredible success – so much so, that the first book became the fastest selling book of 2014. It broke records for being the highest first week sales for a debut author. And since then, Zoe Sugg has sold over 343,562 copies of her debut book. Wow.
The Girl Online series follows the life of Penny Porter, a young girl living with her parents in Brighton. The story portrays many of the ups and downs throughout her life – including school dramas, relationship problems of her friends and of her own, maintaining friendships, and the struggles of trying to keep her blog anonymous from her peers.
One of the main focuses of the series is how Penny Porter deals with her anxiety. There is something very personal to Zoe herself, and a topic that she has discussed on multiple occasions on her channel ‘Zoella,’ She felt that it was important to open up about anxiety, as many of her viewers have also struggled with it.
Girl Online solely focuses on the everyday teenage issues and validates how it’s possible to overcome any ups and downs you are faced with as a teenager. Perhaps, it even explains the popularity of the soon-to-be trilogy of books.
