The last time Celeb Mix caught up with singer, songwriter and music producer Flint Bedrock was way back in May 2016. At the time the CEO of YSBG Entertainment was gearing up for the release of his new single ‘Sweet Johanna’.

But fast forward to January 2017 and the rising star has ditched all plans for his previous song and has instead turned his focus to new single ‘Can’t Bring Me Down’.

Here, Flint Bedrock explains why he has cancelled the planned release of ‘Sweet Johanna’, and what ‘Can’t Bring Me Down’ represents.

So, what made you change your mind about releasing your last single ‘Sweet Johanna’?

2016 was a very challenging year, a lot of bad things happened across the world and I felt there was/is a need for more positive and uplifting music.

What was the inspiration behind your new single ‘Can’t Bring Me Down’?

I was inspired by personal experiences as well as those of people around me
and also seeing a lot of what’s been happening in the world lately. Life is hard and
often you need to tell yourself that you are strong enough to face life’s challenges and that it’s going be okay.

What do you hope to achieve with this new release?

I would like to help someone somewhere find that inner strength to keep going even if they feel helpless and defeated; hope is a very powerful thing. As an artist I hope the song will do well and help advance my career.

How has the reaction been to your new song?

It’s been very positive, fingers crossed a lot more people will get to hear and like the single.

Describe the sound of the new track in three words?

    Epic, positive and uplifting.

What are you hoping for in 2017?

I hope to release a lot more music, perform live and potentially go on a UK tour later on in the year.

So, a tour may be happening this year?

I’d love to have a UK tour later on this year. We will have to wait and see but I will certainly be working hard to make sure it happens.

Can your fans expect a album from you this year?

I am planning to have an album ready by this time next year, so it’s very unlikely that I will release one this year but my fans will get a lot more new music from me in 2017.

What music are you looking forward to hearing this year?

I’m looking forward to hearing Ed Sheeran’s new music.

What can fans expect from you this year?

Fans can expect more music, more videos, and live performances. 2016 was a very quiet year for me music wise, 2017 will be a lot more exciting!
