Last weekend, we headed to Amsterdam to see 5 Seconds of Summer on their Sounds Live, Feels Live tour. Everyone who’s been to a show will know just how brilliant each night has been so here are our top five moments of the SLFL Amsterdam weekend.
5. Don Broco performing Nerve
We couldn’t forget to give an honourable mention to Bedford band Don Broco who’ve been supporting the guys on tour recently. Their closing track “Nerve” quite literally lit up the whole arena both nights showing that despite them having a different sound to the headliners, they’re ones to watch with a solid fanbase already existing.
4. The Amsterdam song
If you’ve been at any of the shows on the SLFL tour so far you’ll know that each night brings a song made up on the spot about the country the band is in. Amsterdam provided the hot damn Amsterdam song after a blink-182 style Ziggo Dome chant which they knew wasn’t very good. We can never think of Amsterdam in the same way again.
3. Michael’s JBH moment
If you don’t know what we’re talking about by this watch this video now. Every 5SOS fan knows just how much this track means to him and we were almost brought to tears by his inability to sing because of the cheers from the audience. Just look at that smile, the atmosphere in the room was electric and immediately became a weekend highlight.
2. Ashton’s speech

5SOS are a band who make it clear constantly that without the fans they’d be nothing, but drummer Ashton Irwin decided to remind everyone with a little speech. Thanking everyone for sticking by the band from day one, and that in 25 years if we’re all still here he’d be saying it again. Don’t worry Ashton, we can assure you we’ll all be right there singing along with a huge smile on our face.
1. If You Don’t Know
Coming as one of the biggest tour shocks for the fanbase, Sunday’s show saw 5SOS adding “If You Don’t Know” onto the setlist. A track which fans have been begging the guys to add since it was released as a B-side on the Don’t Stop EP in 2014, looks like their begging really did pay off. It became a true weekend highlight as for a song getting it’s first live play it was performed just like one of the usual classics on the setlist.
