New for 2017 on CelebMix is our Unsigned Artist of The Week series. We feature a lot of your favourite acts but with so many brilliant unsigned acts out there we want to let you all know who you need to check out.The first artist we’re introducing you to is London songstress Ellie Rose with her soulful electro-pop sound it’s hard to not fall in love from first listen. We stumbled across Ellie as a support act in early 2016 and ever since have been following her progress thanks to her approachable manner and relatable tracks. We’ll never be able to forget her little introduction to track Boyband which sings of a member of a boy band who’s just quite simply shameless and messes with girls heads basically being a bit of a dickhead.

Ellie is the kind of girl you’d love to have as your best friend, not afraid to speak her mind and most certainly one to have your back when issues arise. Her brutal honesty is shown through her lyrics whether she’s singing about struggling to tame someone and realising you just have to walk away in Finding My Feet to problems being thrown your way whether this is boy or just friend issues and realising you WILL get through them in Speedbump.
2013 saw Ellie Rose release her EP Speed Bump/Memory Foam kicking off some magical years to follow. Thanks to her love of singing about everything from her interesting fashion choices to real life topical issues including FGM. Her track 21st Century Girl about FGM led her to perform this track at the Girl Summit in 2014 in front of world leaders and other influential characters. No stranger to performing big events, 2015 saw Ellie gracing the Glastonbury Introducing Stage alongside racking up an impressive gig history playing largely acoustic shows and festival slots at Isle of Wight and Secret Garden Party alongside others.
Latest track Welcome To The Kingdom sings of living in the wild kingdom of London, seeing Ellie go on a walk around London streets. Learning the importance of taking every opportunity and making the best of every situation you get given to you. Watch the video for the track below.

2017 already looks set to be a gig filled year with Ellie’s first full band show of the year taking place tomorrow at The Old Blue Last promising a set full of new material.
We gave Ellie Rose five quick-fire questions to answer and here’s what she said:
Who were your musical influences growing up?
Growing up I listened to everything. I have older sisters and my parents are big music fans. So my knowledge and influences are pretty extensive. I listened to a lot of 80’s music growing up. Adam Ant, Kate Bush, Billy Idol etc… they influenced me a lot.
What advice would you tell 13 year old you?
That it’s OK to be misunderstood and a bit of an odd ball. You’ll find your kind of people one day and they’ll become your best friends.
Which has been your favourite experience of your career to date?
Either meeting Chrissie Hynde when I supported a band called “The Rails” or playing Glastonbury with BBC Introducing.
What is 2017 holding for you?
I’m putting out new music and playing a few cool shows. Other than that, I haven’t a clue. I’d like to meet a nun, I haven’t ever met one before.
