Welcome back to CelebMix’s YouTuber of the Week! Last time, we gave you the lowdown on Shannon Taylor. This week, we’re passing the crown on to the wonderful Carrie Hope Fletcher!

    Who is Carrie Hope Fletcher?

Carrie Hope Fletcher is a multi-talented English YouTuber. She joined the video sharing platform on March 12, 2011 under the name ItsWayPastMyBedTime (a nod to Chitty Chitty Bang Bang).

To date, Carrie has over 635,000 subscribers and has garnered over 92 million views. She isn’t the only vlogger in her family either. Her brother, McFly’s Tom Fletcher, and his wife Giovanna are YouTubers, as is Carrie’s boyfriend, Pete.

Whilst she is a YouTube star, she is also known as a successful actress and singer in her own right. Carrie has appeared in numerous theatre shows, most notably starring as Eponine in Les Misérables in London’s West End.

She is also an author and has released two books and a novella. Her first was released in 2015, entitled All I Know Now: Wonderings and Reflections on Growing Up Gracefully. The non-fiction book is a true reflection of Carrie’s life, sharing stories and advice from her days of growing up. In 2016 she released her first fiction novel, On The Other Side, which was followed up by a novella called Winters’ Snow. Carrie is set to release her second fiction book later this year, entitled All That She Can See.

Why should you watch Carrie’s videos?

If you’re a fan of fun yet inspiring vlogs, then you should definitely be subscribed to Carrie’s channel. Not only does Carrie give fans a peek into her life, but she does so with a kindness and positivity which is often missing in today’s society. Whilst we see all the great things she gets up to, she also shares sensitive and important content on her channel, including speaking up about matters in the YouTube community. One of her latest videos covers the unfair portrayal of fellow YouTubers such as Zoella in mainstream media. Whatever the topic, Carrie always shares her thoughts in an uplifting manner. You can’t help but leave her channel with a sense of empowerment and a smile on your face.

Her videos are so varied in terms of content, which is one of the reasons why we love her so much as a YouTuber. You are likely to find covers and original songs, Disney vlogs, collabs, advice videos, Dear Tom & Gi, theatre vlogs, Q&A’s and everything in between on her channel. In all honesty, Carrie is like an online big sister to her viewers, and proves to be an excellent role model.

Some of our favourite vlogs include her Dear Tom / Dear Tom and Gi series. The idea first came about in 2014 when Carrie and Tom decided to upload vlogs to share with each other online. The purpose of the vlogs were to fill each other in on their lives when they were too busy to physically see each other. With time, Tom’s wife Gi also joined in on the action, making more videos for us all to enjoy.

Whatever the video, Carrie’s positive attitude shines through in all of her vlogs. With a mile-wide smile on her face, it’s hard not to be charmed by the wonderful Carrie Hope Fletcher. If you don’t believe us, check out five of her must-watch videos below.

    Five of Carrie’s must-watch videos

    1. Dear Tom&Gi | The One When I Cut My Hair Off

For years, Carrie was known for her super long curly locks. However, she decided that someone else could benefit from it and vowed to cut some of it off and donate it to The Little Princess Trust, which makes wigs for children who have lost their hair due to various illnesses. Whilst Carrie had announced the news around two years before, she had to wait until she finished her run as Eponine in Les Mis before she could do it. Eventually, the time came and Carrie bravely chopped off her flowing locks, ending up with a gorgeous short ‘do! She shared the hair cutting experience in a Dear Tom&Gi vid, as they were welcoming their second son Buddy Bob Fletcher into the world at the same time.

    2. To My Sixteen Year Old Self

At 21, Carrie shared a letter to her 16 year old self, the content of which we can all resonate with. We challenge you to watch this without getting goosebumps or shedding a tear.

    3. Bibbidi Vloggidi Boo | Day One | Magic Kingdom

Carrie LOVES Disney. In fact, this vlog marks her 20th visit to a Disney Park! We love seeing what her and Pete get up to during their trip, and they give plenty of tips for anyone who might be going to the park in the future. Carrie’s reaction to walking down Main Street and seeing the castle for the first time on this trip is so precious. Despite having seen it numerous times, the magic is always well and truly alive.

    4. Stone Cold – Demi Lovato

We had to include a video of Carrie singing, and this beautiful rendition of Demi Lovato’s ‘Stone Cold’ is one of our favourites!

    5. How To Feel Confident

We love Carrie’s advice videos, and her five tips on how to ‘fake it til you make it’ and feel more confident will certainly give you a boost.

Congratulations to Carrie Hope Fletcher on being crowned our YouTuber of the Week! Thank you for all your funny, heartwarming, inspiring and fun vlogs. Make sure you subscribe to Carrie’s channel here.
