Here at CelebMix we love YouTubers and to show this we’ve created a YouTuber Of The Week feature. Having previously mentioned the likes of Dan & Phil, Chester See and Lilly Singh, this week The Saccone-Jolys are who we’ll be focusing on.
Anna and Jonathan Saccone-Joly both have their own accounts, but that’s a whole different story (and one we’ll no doubt be focusing on in the very near future!) so we’ve delved into their joint account and to give you an insight into just what makes it so brilliant.
Who are The Saccone-Jolys?
The Saccone-Jolys are Anna, Jonathan, Emilia and Eduardo (oh and their six lovable Maltese dogs). Their joint channel revolves around their day to day family life whether it’s a normal day with their kids or milestones including births and special moments.
Vlogging their day to day life has led to them becoming some of the most loved YouTubers out there for their faultless, supportive relationship with their online friends. The Saccone-Jolys are keen supporters of the RSPCA. Anna and Jonathan are regulars at the Big Walkies events meeting fans and dogs alike. Heavily active on social media, fans soon feel more like friends of the family, known as the ‘friendliest of friends’ by the family.
Since starting out on YouTube in 2010 they’ve gone from strength to strength, going from posting about ‘How To Make An Irish Snowball’ to hilarious videos such as ‘Truth Or Dare’ as a family. Just like any family they’ve faced their own struggles, putting these out there for the world to see and provide support for those who may also be facing similar issues. We truly love and admire them for that!
Attracting on average 19 million views a month has led to their fair share of abuse from both viewers and even press, over whether they should be putting their lives online including their children. But we absolutely love the dignified, calm and respectful approach they have taken towards this with Jonathan stating to the Telegraph ‘Anything bad that happens doesn’t make the show; anything that will make the kids feel uneasy won’t make the show’. Parents who don’t want to embarrass their kids? The world needs more of these!
The Saccone-Jolys have cemented themselves as a family we’d love to be a part of, now here’s just why you should check them out and why you’ll love them!
What you can find on their channel and why you should be watching…
The Saccone-Jolys’ daily videos focus on their day to day life whether it’s taking Emilia and Eduardo swimming, going on a date night or just a night in with a takeaway. But there’s also the not so normal occasions including pregnancies (we got to see via vlogs the birth of Emilia and Eduardo!), wedding days along with the sadder occasions including Anna’s recent miscarriage.
You might think that a YouTuber’s life is just going to cool events, editing videos and getting products from various companies but this family show you there’s a lot more to it than meets the eye. YouTubers are just like us and the Saccone-Jolys make that crystal clear with their relatable videos. We LOVE seeing them playing games such as The Chubby Bunny challenge with Emilia and Eduardo, then other videos showing adventures including a night being spent in the zoo. We can’t help but be a teenie tiny bit envious… spending the night in the zoo surrounded by your favourite animals must be extremely good fun.
Their openness towards nearly every aspect of their life allows you as a viewer to grow up with The Saccone-Jolys. You seriously feel like part of their family which we completely love. Emilia and Eduardo feature heavily, allowing them to have videos to look back on in years to come of some of their biggest moments. Emilia having already seen her own birth video (and allegedly being super confused when told it was her being born) is proof that these family videos are going to be huge memories when they’re older and hopefully, understand.
Oh, and if you love appearances from the likes of Zoella and Joe Sugg, then you can be sure of them both featuring every so often since the Saccone-Joly’s are good pals with pretty much everyone we at CelebMix love. We love that The Saccone-Jolys are pretty much family goals; supportive friends, a loving family, six adorable dogs and enough love to make the coldest of hearts melt.
If you want to know what to expect from the Saccone-Jolys in their own words… ‘We don’t talk about politics. We don’t push any opinions on people. When you’ve had a crap day at work you come home and you want to stick on the Saccone-Jolys. You don’t want to watch something to remind you about the hardships. You want to watch this little fun life with these funny kids and the dogs and Anna and Jonathan. It’s like, “I feel a little better.” That’s all it is.’ Sounds good? We think so too!
5 Must Watch Videos
1. We Slept In A Zoo
As we mentioned above, sleeping in a zoo and having breakfast with all the animals is basically every child’s dream come true. When Emilia and Eduardo got this experience we felt second-hand happiness seeing their faces light up!
2. Best Day Ever With Zalfie!
Fellow YouTubers Zoella and Alfie spent the day with the Saccone-Joly family visiting Longleat. If you need a giggle then this video is for you, with everyone freaking out over the flying bats to Eduardo showing off his new found shh-ing skills to everyone. We found ourselves really fancying a zoo trip after this, anyone fancy joining us?
3. Breakfast With Minnie Mouse!
Living our dream, this sees the Saccone-Jolys taking some time out at Playlist Live last year to explore and have breakfast with Minnie Mouse. It melts our hearts watching the family having such great experiences together, seeing the happiness on Emilia’s face when she meets Minnie will bring a tear to your eye.
4. Our Wedding
Even on their wedding day in Italy, The Saccone-Jolys didn’t take a break from their daily vlogging. We’re given a front row seat into their special day, we see Jonathan’s face light up as Anna walks down the aisle and it’s one of the best vlog moments in their large archive.
5. Lives Changed Forever!
The couple’s most watched video with over four million views is the day their first child Emilia was born. A controversial addition to their vlogs but one which has clearly become the most well loved. Emilia and brother Eduardo have since brought some of the best Saccone-Joly moments, many of which caught on film.
If you’re still not sure if the Saccone-Jolys are for you, head to their YouTube and find out for yourselves! If a real life insight into a YouTube family’s life with highs and lows is your kind of thing then we’re sure you’ll love them just as much as we do.
