Despite being a record breaking recording artist, both as a member of the girl band Girls Aloud and as a solo artist, a highly successful spokes-model for L’Oreal Paris UK and a much loved judge on The X Factor, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has remained grounded, humble and true to who she is.
Cheryl is kind, sweet, caring and generous and here are 10 reasons why we love her so much.
1: SHE IS CHARITABLE:
Not only has the kind hearted singer set up her own charity, Cheryl’s Trust in partnership with The Prince’s Trust, she also regularly helps out with a number of worthy causes including, Children In Need, Comic Relief, Make A Wish Foundation, The Poppy Appeal and many many more.
2: SHE IS NOT AFRAID TO STAND UP TO SIMON COWELL:
While some people fear the wrath of the music mogul, Cheryl regularly takes the Mick out of Simon on The X Factor and is not afraid to tell him when she thinks a decision he has made is wrong. Their honest and fun relationship on the talent show has earned them the nickname of Chimon.
3: SHE DOESN’T TAKE HERSELF TO SERIOUSLY:
Despite being a multi-millionaire and a household name the Geordie babe is always up for a laugh. During the 2015 series of X Factor Cheryl famously jumped up on stage for an impromptu performance of the Azonto dance with her act Reggie N Bollie and after she was sacked as an X Factor USA judge in 2011 rather than hide away the singer accepted a cameo role in the Hollywood blockbuster ‘What To Expect When You’re Expecting’, where she played an exaggerated version of herself and poked fun at her role as a talent show judge.
4: SHE IS A FIGHTER:
Back in 2010 Cheryl was struck down with the deadliest strain of Malaria she contracted the life threatening disease after a holiday to the African country Tanzania with the American dancer Derek Hough. Thankfully after a stint at a tropical disease hospital in London she was able to make a full recovery.
5: SHE IS PROUD OF HER ROOTS:
Despite going on to become a massive star, Cheryl has always remained proud of her Newcastle council estate upbringing and in 2010 the proud Geordie famously stood up for her down to earth roots to the then X Factor contestant Wagner after it emerged that he had spoken to a journalist and said: Cheryl was nothing “but a girl from a council estate who got lucky”.
6: SHE IS STRONG:
In the past six years alone Cheryl has gone through a lot, she has suffered a high profile divorce and constant speculation about her second marriage, beaten a life threatening illness and been publicly sacked all this and more has happened under the glare of the worlds media, but she has stayed strong and is now happier, healthier and stronger than ever.
7: SHE MAKES GREAT POP MUSIC:
Who can forget bangers such as ‘Promise This’, ‘Call My Name’ and ‘Crazy Stupid Love? Cheryl has broken records with her brilliant pop songs and her debut single ‘Fight For This Love’ has sold over 1 million copies and in 2014 she became the first British female artist to score five number 1 singles with her song ‘I Don’t Care’.
8: SHE IS NOT AFRAID TO SHOW HER EMOTIONS:
During her time as an X Factor judge Cheryl has not been afraid to show her emotions, whether she is crying tears of sorrow, happy tears, or crying with laughter, she has us crying along with her.
9: SHE IS FIERCELY LOYAL:
Since Cheryl met Kimberley Scott nee Walsh and Nicola Roberts during the auditions for Popstars The Rivals, Chezza has remained extremely close with her two former band-mates. The three girls have been best mate’s for over thirteen years now and they remain closer than ever, earlier this month Cheryl and Nicola were both bridesmaids at Kimberley’s wedding.
10: SHE LOVES HER FANS:
Despite being extremely busy, Cheryl always makes time for her fans who she calls her “Soldiers”. She regularly takes time out of her hectic schedule to chat to her soldiers on social media and takes an active interest in the lives of her supporters.
