MUST. STAY. CALM. MUST. KEEP. BREATHING…Okay, it isn’t working. We don’t know about you guys but, as massive fans of The 1975, we are totally losing our shizzle right now.

The group are set to perform at MSG. Yes, you heard us, MADISON SQUARE GARDEN, for the first time, and we refuse to apologise for our emotional state.

The 1975, a band consisting of Matthew Healy, Adam Hann, George Daniel and Ross MacDonald, released their second studio album, titled ‘I Like It When You Sleep For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It’ last year and, since then, they seem to have just gone from strength to strength. The group started out only playing to small crowds, putting on really intimate, immersive shows for their fans, however, since their fanbase has grown in size in a way which could not have been anticipated, the venues they’re playing have grown in size too.

The guys toured their successful album throughout 2016 and plan on remaining on the road this year. They have already announced a bunch of international tour dates, their first North American one of 2017 being that killer MSG show. The foursome shall

The foursome shall be performing at the world-famous venue on June 1, and tickets for the show will go on sale on January 14 at 10 am, with a fan presale starting tomorrow, Tuesday January 10 at 10 am.

This news is huge for both the band and their adoring fans, which is evident across social media. Fans have taken to Twitter to express their excitement and pride at the fact that the band shall be stepping out onto such an iconic stage to perform some of their biggest hits.

To say that we are excited about this news would be the biggest understatement of 2017 – yes we know it’s only January, but still.

The 1975 are becoming more popular as the days go by and seem to be gaining more support from people worldwide. But devout fans mustn’t worry, as these boys haven’t grown too big for their boots, oh no.

In fact, the guys shall be playing a show for 500 people in a small venue in London in February, proving how grounded they still are and that they still love doing what they started out doing.

So, what are your thoughts on all of this? Are you as proud as we are of the boys for playing on a stage where legends have walked? A venue which holds over 20,000 people? Tweet us your thoughts and we can all freak out together @CelebMix.
