2017 NYC Web Fest Award Winners

The 2017 NYC Web Fest Award Winners have now been announced, and we’re excited to have the list for you all. The new streaming company, PopChest, also awarded the Best Web Series winner with a thousand dollar cash prize – now that’s what we’re talking about.

Held at a bigger venue, the fourth annual NYC Web Fest was held on November 9-11, 2017. An awards ceremony concluded the event, which saw “The Feels Season Two” collect the most awards, including Best Web Series; they also won the Outstand Achievement Sound and Special Guest Star, which were awarded to Jay Rothman and Adepero Oduye respectively.

The festival saw a record number of submissions and attendees. Of the event, founder and festival director, Lauren Atkins said: “I am incredibly proud that we had such high quality productions from around the world participate in our fourth annual Web Fest. Our theater was packed every day because audiences are becoming more discerning about their entertainment. Audiences of web series are growing rapidly because people want to see stories that really matter to them. This year we held panel discussions highlighting both Female and International Creators.”

She went on to say: “The quality of productions this year was very high and it speaks to a maturing of the web series industry. Writers, producers, actors and the entire value chain are producing work which rivals content on the major networks.”
