This week marks CelebMix’s fifth birthday so we’ve decided to celebrate by dedicating articles to some of our favourite celebrities. This one is all about OneRepublic and their singles!
OneRepublic have enjoyed an amazing career to date and continue to blow us away with incredible new releases. We’ve decided to share with you five of our favourite singles from the band so far!
‘Counting Stars’
Starting with an absolute classic, ‘Counting Stars’ is just one of those songs which you can’t helped but be captivated by. Armed with iconic melodies and Ryan Tedder’s distinct vocals, the track has such a feel-good vibe and despite being released in 2013, is one of those tracks we always go back to.
‘Wherever I Go’
‘Wherever I Go’, the lead single from the band’s fourth album Oh My My, saw OneRepublic channel a funkier sound as they experimented with synths. Having said that, there’s no doubt that elements of the track are very much rooted in the band’s signature sound, for example, they’ve carved out yet another incredible chorus which gets stuck in your mind after just one play.
‘Apologize’
We aren’t exaggerating when we say that ‘Apologize’ is one of the greatest ballads of all time. Ryan’s voice is so full of emotion, which in turn really makes the lyrics hit home. It doesn’t matter how many times we’ve listened to ‘Apologize’ over the years – it still manages to hit us in the feels like it did the very first time we heard it.
‘Rescue Me’
One of OneRepublic’s more recent releases, ‘Rescue Me’ is the perfect blend of the band experimenting with their music whilst also staying loyal to their classic sound. Not only is the song’s lyrics relatable, but it comes with an anthemic chorus which is irresistible to the ear.
‘If I Lose Myself’
If we had to pick an all-time favourite OneRepublic single then it would be ‘If I Lose Myself’. There’s just something so special about this song – it is filled with euphoria, and you can’t help but lose yourself (pardon the pun) in that beat drop after the chorus. Whether you’re blasting it out whilst driving with the windows down, or you’re taking it in through your headphones, this is a song which always deserves to be played at full volume.
