5 Performances We Miss From One Direction’s Up All Night Tour

How have you been keeping busy during One Direction’s hiatus?  Is it still totally weird to grasp that we aren’t counting down days until the multiple dates we’d see the boys life?  We think so – it’s hard to believe we’re going into 2016 without a One Direction tour, but the boys definitely deserve this much needed time off.

To keep ourselves busy, we’ve been singing Harry, Louis, Niall, and Liam’s concert note changes while listening to the songs in the car and wishing we were front row experiencing it live again.  We’ve also been looking back at some of our favorite tour moments and putting together playlists to listen to while we’re dancing around at home – and we know we aren’t the only ones.

It seems like ages since the boys were touring Up All Night and we recently found ourselves really missing the beginning of this incredible journey we took with the lads – so much so that we’ve been quite emotional.

Here are five songs we’re not only missing from Up All Night’s album/tour, but replaying over and over just to hear their voices sounding so young!

    5. Use Somebody

This song, while not one of their own, was definitely one of the best live performed songs in One Direction’s first tour.  Their voices worked absolutely perfectly with the tune, they sand the lyrics with a little bit of passion and a little bit of love, and they looked absolutely stunning while doing so.

    4. What Makes You Beautiful

What Makes You Beautiful has stood the test of time, and it’s easy to see why – it was their first big smash and it was full of livelihood – both then and now.  You probably sang the lyrics at the top of your lungs five years ago – and odds are, when it comes on shuffle while you’re driving down the road, you roll those windows down and blast it, remembering the good ol days.

    3. Gotta Be You

This specific performance of Gotta Be You has to be one of the best with the ‘wrong sized shoe’ lyric change.  The lyric changes, from the beginning, were one of the most exciting part of One Direction concerts, they were a fun way for the boys to interact with the fans and figure out which ones they could get away with and which ones would get them caught.  Aside from the lyric change, this song is one of our all time favorites – it’s just adorable.

    2. Up All Night

Up All Night was a great song on album, but it was even better performed live, there was so much power behind it.  This song was one of the most interactive between the crowd and the lads and if you got to hear it live during their tour, the memory has probably never left your mind.  This is one of those songs you still hear in your mind when you’re experiencing a night that you just don’t want to see the end of.  Thanks boys.

    1. More Than This

The boys have written some incredible songs, recorded tunes that get stuck in your head for days, and performed absolute bangers over their first chapter together; however there is one song that stands out to us more than most, and that song is More Than This.  There’s just something about the lyrics, stage presence, and emotions of the lads as they performed it during Up All Night that we can’t shake.  If we could rewind to one moment from One Direction’s first tour it would be this one, every time.
