Get ready, this is the update we’ve ALL been waiting for.
Whilst currently on a promo tour prior to their upcoming third album (JUST ANNOUNCED, we’ll get there in a sec), pop rock band 5 Seconds of Summer have been way too good to their fans. And it DEFINITELY makes up for their two year break.
Late last week they dropped both an acoustic version and remix of this era’s first single, Want You Back. Available from 12am Friday, those Down Under were first to hear these new tracks.

The acoustic brings a smooth and melodic sound to the original, catchy track, whilst the remix by American duo Tritonal isn’t too heavy, and provides a chance for some serious bopping along.
Soon after fans began scrambling to iTunes (#BUYWANTYOUBACK), the boys threw another spanner in the works (and our hearts cringe) by dropping the acoustic version’s music video.
A dizzy, circling, beautiful piece, it gave us feels of a higher budget version of the Voodoo Doll one-take from back in 2014 – throwback or what?

Next up: Though not yet confirmed by the boys, fans at the London show were highly under the impression that 5SOS were close to dropping their second single.
Circulated only as rather pixelated-sounding, shaky crowd videos, Youngblood was soon to become a fan favourite for upcoming singles. (Throwback to pre-studio version Disconnected times.) Now, check this out from the sold out show they played at Heaven nightclub in London:

Due to drop June 22nd, YOUNGBLOOD will be the band’s third studio album, and man, has it already sent us all over the edge. The cover keeps in line with their pop art style, and comes accompanied by the Meet You There Tour, due to commence in the States this August.
