Actor Aaron Sidwell has been brought back by EastEnders bosses to reprise his role as the troubled Steven Beale.
Steven Beale who is the eldest son of Ian Beale’s ex wife Cindy will be brought back by EastEnders producers as part of an explosive storyline involving the Beale family.
Steven played by Aaron was last seen on Albert Square back in 2008, and is now living in Australia with brother Peter, Peter’s girlfriend Lauren Branning and Lauren and Peter’s baby boy.
Despite only playing Steven for one year, Sidwell’s performance as the troubled teen was very memorable as he tackled huge story-lines, including stalking and kidnapping Ian, accidentally shooting Ian’s wife Jane, ending her chances of ever having any children of her own, attempting to suffocate Pat Butcher, developing an attraction to Jane’s brother Christian, and also attempting to end his own life on two occasions after struggling with mental health issues.
The news of Steven Beale’s return to the soap is likely to tie in with Lauren’s return, and EastEnders have already confirmed the return of Jane’s brother and mother Christian and Linda Clarke.
The return of such important characters signals that the storyline that is being planned for the Beale family is set to be very explosive indeed.
