Wigs were definitely SNATCHED in this 70’s inspired music video for “Superpower”! (You’ll see exactly what we mean once you watch it.) Filmed in Brooklyn, Adam Lambert struts his stuff on the streets of New York with some bright, bold, and glittery fashion statements. And in honor of his upcoming album Velvet, green was a key color throughout the music video. There was green eye makeup, green floral accessories, green fonts, and a green suit!
We’re sure you kinda know what an Adam Lambert concert is going to look like now… and we are all for this! BRB, we’re getting our green glittery eye makeup ready, just in case.
With lyrics like, “Try to put me in a box / Make me somethin’ I’m not / Don’t give a fck ’cause I’m gonna take back / My superpower,” and I know I’m not the only one who thinks this sht ain’t OK!,” Adam is taking advantage of the power of music in the best way.
What we love about Adam Lambert is that he is always unapologetically himself. No matter what people think, he follows his heart with everything that he does, whether it be lyrics, fashion choices, or the way his shows are always beautifully set up. Between the stage design and dancers he chooses, you can tell he put a lot of thought into how everything that’s going on around him looks. Even when he’s performing with Queen, you can see all of the effort that he puts into his outfit choices.
That shows in his music now, even more than ever. He isn’t trying to sound like everyone else just so he can be played on the radio. He’s simply making amazing music and helping others along the way. Adam is sending the world the power of love through his music, and to us, that’s the best superpower anyone can have.
