Chicago-based nineteen-year-old bedroom pop artist adan diaz recently released his brand-new single, “three days,” the first track from his forthcoming EP via Godmode.
Other tracks from the upcoming EP will be released over the course of spring and early summer, highlighted by adan’s contagious pop sound, laid-back vocals, and expressive lyricism.
Talking about “three days,” adan shares, “I started writing this when I was 15 years old and finished writing 3 years later when I was 18. I felt confident to finish it and especially confident on who I was and where I was at. I think you can hear that in the track, I’ve left my teenage years behind but realizing I’m still a kid.”
When he was 15 years old, adan began making music. At first, it was purely for fun. Later, it became a way to channel his emotions – the universal growing pangs of a teenager, including boredom, uncertainty, frustration, desperation, and lovesickness.
He exploded onto the music scene with the release of “ripped jeans,” followed by “do re mi,” “legroom,” and “dificil,” together amassing more than 15 million streams on Spotify.
Opening on a simple, alluring piano, followed by the entry of adan’s slightly, raspy voice, “three days” flows into a mid-tempo rhythm made up of crisp, crunching percussion and a fat, rounded bassline. At once confessional and charming, the tune projects an appealing, upbeat mood tinted by introspective flavors.
adan diaz has it going on! With “three days,” Adan blends a tasty indie-pop melody with fluent vocals, resulting in a captivating song.
