Norwegian superstar Alan Walker joins forces with veteran producers Dash Berlin and British gaming sensation Vikkstar on “Better Off (Alone Pt. III),” breathing new life into one of the ‘90s most iconic dance tracks.
Walker explains, “Teaming up with Dash Berlin and Vikkstar for ‘Better Off (Alone Pt. III)’ has been a creative whirlwind. We’ve reimagined a beloved ‘90s gem, infusing it with a contemporary twist that’s bound to resonate with fans old and new. This collaboration embodies the magic of music – a fusion of nostalgia and innovation.”
Dash Berlin’s Ryan Fieret adds, “Proud to be a part of this momentous team up with dance music icon Alan Walker and legendary YouTube phenomenon Vikkstar, together with Dash Berlin producers Seb & Eelke celebrating 25 years of their monster hit ‘Better Off Alone.’ Reborn and reworked as a magical future classic as part of Alan Walker’s celebrated ‘Alone’ saga, ready to make the whole world sing along with us once again.”
While Vikkstar says, “Being able to work on this project with a close friend has been a great experience, with lots to learn. I’ve been quietly producing and working on my own music. I’m very excited that my first-ever release will be a collaboration not only with Alan but also with Dash Berlin. Both artists have a legendary reputation and it’s been an honor to join them.”
Alan Walker burst onto the music scene in 2015, releasing his debut hit single, “Faded,” amassing over 1.7 billion Spotify streams and a massive 3.5 billion YouTube video views, along with a BRIT Awards nomination for song of the year, as well as Norwegian Grammy.
Since then, he’s collected almost five billion streams on Spotify, and nine billion views on YouTube, performed at elite festivals like Coachella and Tomorrowland, and collaborated with Ava Max, Noah Cyrus, Sia, Bruno Mars, and Coldplay.
Dash Berlin, the collective project founded by BMI-winning producer Sebastiaan Molijn, along with co-producer Eelke Kalberg, has released Trance hits like “Till the Sky Falls Down,” “Man on the Run” and “Waiting.” With over 100 million streams on Spotify, Dash Berlin has performed on the biggest festival stages and remixed artists like Armin van Buuren, The Chainsmokers, Alan Walker, Hardwell, and Zedd.
Online Creator, and 1/7th of YouTube powerhouse the Sidemen, followed by millions, Vikkstar is just getting started as a DJ and artist, yet is already making an impact, performing shows around the globe and releasing his own music.
“Better Off (Alone, Pt. III)” opens on swirling tones topped by sensuously affecting vocals, and then rolls into a thumping, energizing rhythm, as waves of pulsing synths ride overhead. Shimmering drops shift the harmonic flow, followed by ramping up to a mesmerizing melody brimming with compelling motion.
With “Better Off (Alone, Pt. III),” Alan Walker, Dash Berlin, and Vikkstar demonstrate their sheer talent for contagious dance music.
