This is a whole new type of energy and it’s undeniably amazing, with AlienBlaze going all out in her incredible new single “Lovesick” which features OmenXIII. The track launches hard into rock that twists around EDM-inspired rap, allowing these artists to showcase their skills and genre fluidity. This acts as the follow-up to AlienBlaze’s live version of her single “Romantically Dead” as well as her previous single “Not Yours Never Was”; and OmenXIII’s collaboration with Sleeping With Sirens on the single “Do You Like Me Now” and he has since released his new album “Sorry,”, a new single “So Many Monsters” and featured on Elijah888’s single “Break Out Pt. 2” alongside Chxpo, Gizmo, Fukkit, nascar aloe, Bill $Aber, Jay Eazy, Soldier Kidd, Duke Deuce, Jx.Zero, Luclover, Ohboyprince, Fresh X Reckless, DLU Kemp, and Finesse2Tymes.
AlienBlaze, real name Alicia Moore, is a fiercely passionate singer-songwriter and lead guitarist, who defies boundaries with her genre-fluid anthems that effortlessly blend elements of dark alternative pop, grunge, emo, rock, and electronic music. With an undeniable presence that exudes angst and rebellion, AlienBlaze captivates her young audience, inspiring them to embrace self-empowerment. Throughout her school years, AlienBlaze found solace in music, immersing herself in countless hours of electric guitar practice, drawing inspiration from guitar legends such as Jerry Cantrell of Alice In Chains and Slash. It was her own feelings of alienation from her peers that led her to adopt the ‘alien’ moniker as an artist, symbolising her unique identity and perspective. Despite only debuting on Spotify in 2019, AlienBlaze has rapidly gained recognition, amassing hundreds of thousands of plays and capturing the attention of notable figures in the industry, including Oli Sykes of Bring Me The Horizon, Rou Reynolds of Enter Shikari, Grimes, and Ellie Roswell of Wolf Alice. Her talent has also been celebrated by esteemed publications such as Wonderland Magazine, NOTION, and Kerrang!, cementing her status as a rising force in the music scene.
As for OmenXIII, real name Toryan Saunders, he is an enigmatic rapper and producer hailing from the Los Angeles area, who remains shrouded in mystery as he pushes the boundaries of hip-hop/rap into uncharted territories. With a sound that defies categorisation, OmenXIII seamlessly blends elements of headbanging rock and metal into his music, drawing inspiration from acts like Three Days Grace, Linkin Park, Suicide Silence, Whitechapel, Chelsea Grin, and Carnifex. Emerging onto the scene in 2015, influenced by the Seshollowaterboyz, OmenXIII quickly gained recognition for his mixtapes MISFIT and GRIM, featuring standout tracks like “Drop Dead”, “I Think It’s Time That I Emerge”, “Silver Studs”, and “I Didn’t Want To Do It This Way, But”. Unleashing an intensity and grit that captivates listeners, OmenXIII embodies the essence of the underground scene while fearlessly exploring experimental sounds with mainstream appeal.
Written by Alicia Moore, KID BRUNSWICK, and Toryan Deon Saunders, whilst it has been produced by KID BRUNSWICK, “Lovesick” is a full-on hard rock song that has an EDM spirit which is certainly becoming a popular aesthetic within rock music – just look at Smash Into Pieces – yet AlienBlaze and OmenXIII take it to the next level, infusing rap to completely give a huge genre-crossover that we absolutely love. AlienBlaze give heartwrenching emotional vocals that really make a statement and prove exactly why she’s one of the top rising female artists in rock at the moment – that vocal is killer! When OmenXIII jumps on with his awesome rap verse, mellowing out the track before it progresses into a raging rock song that has so much fire and spirit. Lyrically, the track delves into how love can be a sickness, how loneliness can also bring the same feelings, how heartache and heartbreak are just as bad as one another, and how some people are just too difficult to simply just get over. The song’s lyrics are open to interpretation, with both artists nailing ambiguity whilst also adding their own personal touch, it’s beyond clever as it makes the track highly relatable to all. This is a super solid release and excites us to watch both AlienBlaze and OmenXIII rise in the music industry.
Talking about this track, AlienBlaze said: “I always wanted ‘Lovesick’ to be a tortured love song, but it actually works even better as a duet. I just love what OmenXIII has done with his verse and I think our two styles actually give the song an extra intensity.”
