ALMA throws her own funeral party on ‘When I Die’

Your favourite luminous pop disruptor is back, and oh my goodness is she better than ever before.

With huge tracks such as ‘Chasing Highs’ and ‘Dye My Hair’ under her belt, one of 2018’s standout EPs, Heavy Rules Mixtape, and cuts on the likes of Martin Solveig’s ‘All Stars’ and Felix Jaehn’s ‘Bonfire’ – ALMA’s booming pop vocals are some you’ve heard before.

Now, with latest single ‘When I Die‘, she’s at her best yet. Somewhere in between Fall Out Boy’s MANIA and Charli XCX’s Pop 2 – if pop music could kill, this track would be the one. It’s the dark, edgy electropop that makes ALMA so talented, served with her trademark rockstar attitude.

A completely different sound from last year’s Finnish homeland-inspired ‘Cowboy’, ALMA is another step closer to that hotly anticipated debut album, Have You Seen Her?, announced for release on April 5th. Serving another curveball in ‘When I Die’, ALMA is truly one of the most versatile voices out there. Quite how that debut record is going to sound is anyone’s guess but one thing is for sure, it’s going to be unlike anything you’ve heard before.

This song was born from a big conversation about when and how we leave the world is so out of our control. We spend so much time worrying about things out of our control, we’re always trying to be better, richer, more successful. We rarely appreciate the moments in front of us. Go to the party, blow your money (even if you have work tomorrow) you will survive!”

Last week, ALMA announced a 15 date European tour for March and April this year, which will see her stop off at Dublin, Glasgow, Manchester, Brighton and London, before heading across the continent. Check out all the dates below.
