Brooklyn’s multi-platinum outfit American Authors hooked up with Norway’s production duo Seeb to release their new single, “Best I Can,” via Island Records.

According to American Authors, “’Best I Can’ is about giving your entire heart to the person you love most. When you strip away the material objects and glamour in the world, all that really matters is the truest love we share.”

Seeb adds, “This song feels like a natural blend of where American Authors come from musically with their unique instrumentation containing a lot of guitars and even banjos. We had a great time with this record. It’s probably not a collab that either of our fans are expecting, but that just makes it so much more fun to do.”

American Authors burst onto the scene with their number one single, “Believer,” which went viral on YouTube, collecting more than 8 million views. They signed with Island Records in 2012, followed by releasing their LP, Oh, What A Life, which went Gold. The followed up with What We Live For and last year’s Seasons.

Seeb became a household name with their remix of “I Took A Pill In Ibiza,” by Mike Posner. The song gathered 3 billion+ streams, followed by the duo – Simen Eriksrud and Espen Berg – working with Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, Tove Lo, and OneRepublic.

“Best I Can” opens on a quixotically-flavored dance-lite rhythm radiating sparkling colors and gleaming textures. Delicious vocals infuse the lyrics with tantalizing nuance savors, as well as gentle, tender tones. A fat bassline and thumping kick drum give the rhythm a driving measured cadence topped by silky glossy hues. Soft glowing vocal harmonies imbue the tune with suffusing washes of misty layers.

“So all I do is try, try to do my best / But nothin’ ever measures up to all the world expects / ‘Cause I’m not like a god, no I ain’t heaven-sent / All I am is human, loving you the best I can / Loving you the best I can.”

Wonderfully put together, “Best I Can” delivers gorgeous surface colors, a potent rhythm, and smooth, alluring vocals full of romantic fragrance.
