Since 2002, American Idol has turned unknown singers into superstars. Thanks to the show, we now know Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood and Adam Lambert. Now, the show is entering its 15th and final season. Judges Harry Connick Jr., Jennifer Lopez and Keith Urban return to find one more superstar and they join host Ryan Seacrest, who has been with the show since the beginning.
USA Today reports that this season has a few changes. This season will be shorter, with an April finale. The original judges, Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell, are also expected to appear during this season. Also, previous contestants will return to assist this season’s hopefuls during the early auditions. Some fans may wonder who will come back this season however Executive Producer Trish Kinane has not yet revealed the list. However, she said that everyone who has been asked to come back is excited to return to the show.
Although the show isn’t as popular as it once was, the main idea behind the show has remained constant. Urban said American Idol is like a “Cinderella story.” He explained a strong singer who has talent and ambition, but nothing else, can still make it big. That story is what people still believe.
