UK Country singer-songwriter Andy Brown has been creating quite a buzz in the country music scene of late. Fresh off the back of a UK tour of intimate venues, where his fans got to see him up close, Andy today continued to make his mark in the country genre with the release of his EP Country Sessions, Vol 1.
Only hours after its release, Country Sessions, Vol 1. went straight to the top of the Itunes Country chart. The EP contains covers of hits from four established American country artists – “Burning House” by Cam, “Better Man” by Little Big Town, “I Could Use A Love Song” by Maren Morris and “You Look Good” by Lady Antebellum. All the covers stay true to the originals but Andy’s instantly recognisable voice really make them his own.
Fans who were able to attend Andy’s tour last week will have heard the live version of “You Look Good”, which is stripped back compared to the original but still keeps the same rhythm. follows the release of Andy’s second solo single “Talk of The Town”, a catchy, light-hearted track, which is on par with the hits mentioned above.
You can watch the official music video for “Talk of The Town” below:
We recently caught up with Andy to talk about his life as a solo artist, working in Nashville, his UK solo tour and becoming a father. You can check it out here.
If you were unable to make it to Andy’s tour or just want to see him again (we know we do), then there are plenty of opportunities to see him over the coming months. Andy will be performing on the Country to Country closeup stage at the O2 on 10 March, as well as heading out on two tours. He will first be supporting Shane Filan on his “Love Always” tour which begins in Gateshead on 30 April. Andy will also be supporting The Shires on their “Accidentally on Purpose” tour which begins in Guilford on 12 May. This is not the first time Andy has worked with the band. He has previously dueted with singer Chrissie Rhodes on the song “Landslide”. Hopefully, we will get to see a live version of this on the tour.
