Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter and online persona Annie O’Malley releases her new single/lyric video, “klose the door,” a blend of hyperpop and drum ‘n’ bass. “klose the door” follows on the heels of O’Malley’s previous single, “11th Hour,” which amassed more than 480,000 streams on Spotify.

Talking about the song, O’Malley shares, “Being the first single of what will be my sophomore album coming out in the spring of 2024, ‘klose the door’ is leading the way. It’s about that situationship that yew always go back to. Wondering if maybe it’s time to klose that door and move on, problem is they keep knocking.”

Raised in a small town outside of Chicago, the now SoCal-based artist uses songwriting to explore the complexities of her inner child, penning released and upcoming songs about birthday parties, ice cream, love, loss, and all the other parts of the journey in this life.

She wants to stick it to the execs who told her she was too emotional or dramatic, making it a point that sensitivity and expression is a superpower.

Since dropping her first single in 2018, Annie has released countless singles and her latest material includes a 2022 album called Skrapbook, an EP from early 2023 called the koldest season, and the single “11th Hour.”

Her online and social presence is also something to brag about, thanks to her diehard work ethic and an authenticity that shines through in both her post content and colorful brand that comes quite naturally to O’Malley. With over 2.1M Spotify streams, 190K listeners, 100K + YouTube views and 709K likes on Tik-Tok, the force is strong with O’Malley and has attracted new listeners to her unique brand of pop.

Annie O’Malley is putting the finishing touches on her new album, all the things that skare me, slated to drop in 2024.

Opening on a thumping kick-drum topped by soft, emerging colors and O’Malley’s lusciously nuanced vocals, “klose the door” elevates to dazzling, creamy layers of harmonics, providing a shimmering matrix for O’Malley’s crème de la crème voice, imbuing the lyrics with burnished tones decorated with dreamy hues.

Highlighted by the deluxe vocals of Annie O’Malley, “klose the door” smolders with vibrant energy riding a swanky contagious rhythm.
