Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has confirmed that the fight between British fighter Anthony Joshua, and Ukranian boxer Wladimir Klitschko is all but done, with an official announcement to be made very soon.
The fight between the pair who are also close pals, comes after British champion Tyson Fury vacated his WBO and WBa belts after his boxing license was suspended following his positive test for cocaine.
And according to promoter Hearn, the heavyweight fight between Klitschko, and Joshua, just needs to be sanctioned. The match will see Joshua’s IBF belt and potentially the WBA and WBO titles on the line.
Eddie Hearn added about the upcoming fight that the “terms are virtually there,”
Tyson Fury defeated Wladimir Klitschko last November to win the WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight titles but later withdrew from two scheduled rematches.
While Britain’s undefeated heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, was due to defend his title on the 26th November in Manchester.
The boxing match between Joshua, and Klitschko is likely to take place on December 10th, at the 21,000 capacity Manchester Arena.
Speaking to BBC Radio 5 live, Eddie Hearn added: “The deal between the fighters is there. The financial terms are agreed, there was a problem with US broadcasters but that has been sorted.
“It is now a case of getting the paperwork and the sanctioning in order. Hopefully in a couple of days we will have the official announcement.”
