Last year, we introduced you to the wonderful talent that is Aphrose, an independent indie-soul artist from Toronto. Having made waves amongst fans and critics with her debut single ‘The Middle’, Aphrose is back to wow us once more with her new offering, ‘Move On’.
Produced by Scott McCannell, ‘Move On’ is a love song with a difference, and shines light on someone breaking free and realising their self worth. The empowering offering once again showcases Aphrose’s stunningly soulful vocals, further proving that she is one to watch for 2018.
Speaking about ‘Move On’, Aphrose said: “It is not your average love song about relationships between two people, but rather about the love a person finds when they realize their own self-worth. ‘Move On’ is that feeling you get when you finally become aware that you’ve had enough of barriers like hate and fear and you’re not going to let those walls hold you back anymore.”
Take a listen to ‘Move On’ below.
Aphrose will be releasing a music video for ‘Move On’ on February 19. Directed by Michael Tobin, the video will showcase an army of strong women standing up for themselves. Speaking about the video, she said: “The concept of having 20+ strong, brave, women of different ethnicities and backgrounds walk in solidarity, past the oppression, past the racism, past the hatred, past the bigotry, past the weight of the patriarchy and rise above it, was powerful. Hopefully ‘Move On’ resonates with a lot of people.”
‘Move On’ is available to download and stream now.
