In the latest instalment of their Up Next series, Apple Music have announced Koffee as the newest featured artist. Previous artists who’ve been named as Up Next artists include Sigrid, Billie Eilish and Dean Lewis.
The Jamaican-born reggae singer has been called the new voice of reggae music after shooting into the spotlight with her ‘Tribute to Usain’ Instagram video in 2017. The post which can be seen here was then shared by the sports star celebrating Jamaica and Usain’s journey. Koffee has already been working her way up the charts across the platform seeing her hit the Number 1 spot on the Reggae Song Chart and Number 3 on the Reggae Album Chart with her Rapture EP. Sticking to her reggae roots there are melodic hooks and sing-alongs aplenty across the EP, with many of the tracks perfectly suited for the summer days we have coming up.
Speaking of being named as this first reggae ‘Up Next’ artist Koffee said; “I’m grateful for all the support and love so far. It’s a blessing to be named as the first Reggae Artiste in Apple’s Up Next series and I’m excited for what this means for the genre, my country and its culture on a whole!”
Later this month Koffee will make her late-night US debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on 13th June as part of the Apple Music Up Next programme. Her Rapture EP was released in March and can be listened to here.
Keep up to date with her on Facebook, Instagram, Official Website and Twitter.
