Are YOU Still Sleeping, twenty one pilots?

Yesterday, a radio station tweeted about twenty one pilots’ return. Everyone was curious as to what it meant, but before a real explanation could be offered, the message was deleted.

It was figured to be an act just to gain publicity. After all, fans have been waiting for twenty one pilots to return for about a year.

However, after today, it’s very likely that something is happening.

Early in the morning, twenty one pilots sent their first message out since July 2017. It wasn’t much, but…

The group sent out this GIF, with the headline reading “ARE YOU STILL SLEEPING?”. Not another word was given.

Question is, what does it mean? Truthfully, we have been awake. If you think about it, twenty one pilots are the ones that have been asleep… So, does this mean that they are finally awakening?

The last big thing that came from twenty one pilots was their hometown tour, Tour de Columbus.

The crowd waiting for twenty one pilots at the Tour de Columbus show at Nationwide Arena.

They played a series of gigs at some of the smaller venues they played in before hitting it big, then continued on to play at two different arenas. All of the shows sold out within minutes, and not every fan even got access to the sales.

The last music video they published was for “Heavydirtysoul” back in February 2017. The song is off their last studio album, Blurryface, which was released over three years ago on May 17th, 2015.

However, twenty one pilots have given out new music since their fourth studio album. Not only did they cover “Cancer” by My Chemical Romance, but they also did a song for Suicide Squad, entitled “Heathens”. It gained majority popularity on both pop and alternative radio stations, and similar to “Ride” and “Stressed Out“, it is a song nearly everyone knows. The music video for it has over one billion views.

Hopefully, we will be seeing some new material either within the week or sometime during the summer. Either way, it is nice to see that twenty one pilots are still listening. For now, while we wait, we will just have to jam out to some of their classics.
