It has been 2 years since Ariana Grande released her UK number 1 album Dangerous Woman and last Friday (20th April) she released her incredible, much awaited new single No Tears Left To Cry. The single was received with it’s visually stunning, almost abstract, music video featuring Ariana in a range of locations, including a vibrant cityscape, as she overcomes the laws of gravity. Although starting slow, Ariana introduces a punchy disco beat for her latest hit which embodies optimism, power and strength.

We’re not the only ones loving the new music video as YouTube have revealed Ariana’s extraordinary new visual has received a phenomenal 45 million views in a week, giving it the title of most YouTube views of a music video in a week. Previously, Ariana Grande was already queen of this title with her previous music video Focus, which she released over two years ago.

No Tears Left To Cry is the lead single from Ariana Grande’s upcoming fourth album which we cannot wait to hear! Fans have already speculated that in the music video, Ariana showed a sneak peek of the new album’s tracklist. We are so excited to see if she has any more amazing collaborations lined up like Side to Side with Nicki Minaj and Let Me Love You with Lil Wayne.

Following the release, Ariana also had time for a surprise performance at Coachella on the same day where she debuted the first live show of her single. On the 23rd April, Grande released the first part of the behind the scenes of the music video, with part 2 being soon to follow, showing the workings of how the incredible aesthetic was made a reality. Director of No Tears Left To Cry Dave Meyers said in the video that “the concept we wanted to explore was the disorientation that you go through in life and the quest we all go through to kind of find the ground again.”
