In December 2016, Armenia chose Artsvik as their representative for the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest. Today, she released the song and music video for the track she will perform which is titled ‘Fly With Me’.

The song is certainly one of the most original in the competition this year. It is not an up-tempo song but does not fit in to the typical ballad category either. With a high number of ballads this year, this song could really stand out and with the right staging could go far in the competition.

The song has a positive message talking about embracing love for everyone, something which is similar to the contests message for this year which is to ‘celebrate diversity’. The video is very creative with bright colours which help it make an impact. The style of dance in the video matches the song perfectly and is so slick it is almost mesmerising.

You can watch the video for ‘Fly With Me’ by Artsvik below:

Armenia first entered the Eurovision Song Contest in 2006, however, they have yet to win. Their best results came from Sirusho in 2008 and Aram Mp3 in 2014 who both finished in fourth place. Last year, Armenia finished in seventh place after Iveta Mukuchyan closed the show with ‘LoveWave’.

This years contest is definitely going to be a competitive year, and the excitement is really building up. All countries have now selected their entries and have also announced the songs they are sending to Kyiv in May. The semi-finals will take place on 9 May and 11 May, with the Grand Final taking place on 13 May 2017. Last year, Jamala won with “1944”, and the contest will be held in her home country, Ukraine. It will be at the International Exhibition Centre in Kyiv.
