What else should I know about Alekseev?
Nikita Vladimirovich Alekseev, better known as Alekseev is a singer-songwriter from Ukraine who kickstarted his career in 2014 after appearing on The Voice of Ukraine.
Alekseev was born in the Ukranian Capital of Kiev where he spent the majority of his childhood, apart from a brief move to Chita in Russia when he was very young. Growing up the singer received singing lessons from Konstantin Pona, and even started his own band Mova, before going on to graduate from University with a degree in marketing.
The singer’s big break came when he auditioned for season four of The Voice of Ukraine in 2014. Ani Lorak turned for the singer at the Blind Auditions and he made it through to the semi-finals of the competition. In 2015, the singer released “Pyanoye solntse” (Drunken Sun), a single which would go on to reach number one and win the singer various awards over the coming years.
Alekseev went on to apply for Vidbir, Ukraine’s national selection show to choose a representative for the Eurovision. However, only one week later, the singer withdrew his application, and instead entered Belarus’ national selection. He won the competition in February with the song “Forever” and therefore earned the right to represent Belarus at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon.
