Anja Nissen was born in Australia however her parents were originally from Denmark. She first made her mark on the music industry when she was just eight years old. She auditioned for the second season of Australia’s Got Talent reaching the semi-finals. In 2014 Anja then auditioned for the third season of The Voice Australia, joining team Will and going on to win the competition.
After this, she went on to release her self-titled debut album which reached number eleven on the charts in Australia. She has also collaborated with her coach and Cody Wise on the track ‘I’m So Excited’. The singer narrowly missed out to Lighthouse X last year in her bid to represent her country at Eurovision. In January this year, however, she was selected to represent Denmark at the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv, and will perform ‘Where I Am’ at the contest in May.
