Green Day are an American punk rock band, originating from California, USA, that formed in 1986. The trio have released over 10 studio albums, including over 35 singles and music videos. As well as studio albums, the band have released live albums and EPs. Their 2004 album, American Idiot, was the first album of theirs to top the Billboard 200, while also going to the number one spot in many other countries. Following the release of 21st Century Breakdown in 2009, which saw hits such as, ‘Know Your Enemy’ and ’21 Guns’, Green Day released a trilogy of albums in 2012 titled, ¡Uno!, ¡Dos! and ¡Tré!. Green Day have won over 80 awards in total, including the 2010 Grammy Award for Best Rock Album for 21st Century Breakdown and the 2010 Q Award for Best Live Act, whilst being nominated for over 200 awards.
