Her birth name is Elena Alexandra Apostoleanu; she was spotted singing in a supermarket and was offered a contract with Roton Records. Taking the stage name “Alessandra”, she entered two songs into the Romanian selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2008. She later changed her stage name to “Inna”, a nickname her late grandfather came up with. Her debut single “Hot” became an international success, and her follow-up singles charted well globally. Inna has collaborated with Flo Rida, Pitbull, Daddy Yankee, Eric Turner, Manian Hill, as well as Romanian artists Antonia, Alexandra Stan, Play & Win, Morandi, Carla’s Dreams and Lori. In 2011 she became the richest recording artist in Romania and Eastern Europe. She has sung in many different languages including Romanian, English, Spanish and French.
Fun Fact: In 2012, Inna was approached by Romanian Television and was asked to represent Romania at the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest. She had to turn them down due to conflict with her “I Am The Club Rocker” Tour.
