In 2012 (at the age of 14), Jacob got his big break on The X Factor. He then went on to release his debut EP “3 AM – The EP”, which featured cover songs of John Legend, Plain White T’s, John Mayer, Sam Smith, and Ed Sheeran. The EP climbed to the 26th spot on the Billboard 200, and peaked at number two on the Independent Albums chart.
In August 2015, Jacob was named as Radio Disney’s “Next Big Thing” featured artist. In December of that same year, Spotify announced him as one of the next big artists to look out for in 2016. Earlier on in 2016, Jacob announced the arrival of his upcoming Lovesick Tour (based off of the name of the lead single for his debut album), which had dates scheduled in North America and Europe.
On July 6th, 2016 he announced the arrival of his debut studio album “Why?”, which was later released on September 9th.
