Who is Sebastian Rejman?
Sebastian Rejman is a 41-year-old Finnish singer, actor and television host who was internally chosen by Finnish broadcaster YLE to represent his country at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv, Israel along with Darude, one of the biggest Finnish DJs of all time.
Born in Helsinki to a bilingual family, speaking both Finnish and Swedish, Sebastian started singing and playing the guitar at the age of 14. Before trying his luck alone in the music industry, he was a founding member, the lead singer and guitarist for Finnish melodic rock band The Giant Leap. The group released two LPs and multiple singles, but have been on hiatus for a while. Since then, Rejman founded a new band called Sebastian & The 4th Line Band, wrote songs and made music as a solo singer, and sang vocals for several of Darude’s releases.
Sebastian is also known for his role in one of Finland’s most popular drama series Syke – he portrays a doctor who saves children’s lives inside the trauma department of a busy hospital. Through the years, however, he has also been involved with Finnish versions of Got Talent, The Voice and Splash.
On 29 January, he was announced as the Finnish representative for the grandiose contest that is Eurovision. His competing entry was decided by a special edition of Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu (UMK), where Darude and Sebastian performed three songs: “Look Away”, “Superman” and “Release Me”. The winning song, “Look Away” was then selected by viewers and international juries.

“Look Away” was written by the artists themselves, Sebastian Rejman and Darude, and the music video has been directed by Jaakko Manninen, who also directed the previous two music videos for “Release Me” and “Superman“.
