What else do I need to know about The Tide?
The band officially formed on 26th February 2015 just three months after The Vamps hinted about a secret project they were creating behind the scenes. Their first upload was a cover of 5 Seconds of Summer’s “She Looks So Perfect”, immediately giving them their own place in the boyband world with their loveable personalities and great talents. Drew and Nate met each other on a school bus as they lived in the same neighbourhood and share similar interests in skateboarding, leading to a strong friendship forming and seeing them join the band together. Whilst Austin may be a familiar face to the American readers as he appeared on the 2012 edition of The X Factor USA, auditioning as a soloist then being put into a band called Playback who were knocked out of the competition not much later. But clearly, everything happens for a reason as The Tide were created thanks to Playback splitting not long after leaving the competition. This American quartet are known for their upbeat, singalong filled live performances, they highlighted their headliner qualities by heading out on their own Fanfest tour in May/June along with their first UK tour in August/September.
Fun Fact: The Tide are signed to The Vamps record label Steady Records and have supported the band on both their 2015 and 2016 tours, so if you’re a fan of The Vamps you’ve probably already checked these guys out!
