From Beverly Hills to the West?End
The musical, based on Amy Heckerling’s iconic 1995 film (itself a modern take on Jane Austen’s Emma), has been totally reimagined with an original score by KT Tunstall, lyrics by Grammy-winner Glenn Slater, and Heckerling’s book—all under the stylish direction of Rachel Kavanaugh (The Great British Bake Off Musical) and choreography by Lizzi Gee.
It debuted in Bromley (Feb 2024), then transferred to the Trafalgar Theatre in London in March 2025, opening to RAVE reviews with critics and fans alike hailing the show as “big hearted, bangin’ and flawless!” (Daily Mail), “a non stop party” (Radio Times), and “fun and totally fabulous” (The Independent).
The West End production currently stars Emma Flynn (Beautiful, Little Shop of Horrors) as Cher Horowitz, played by Alicia Silverstone in the movie; with Keelan McAuley (Heathers The Musical, Grease) as Josh.
