Snapchat has quickly become one of the most popular social media applications out there. It seems that just about everyone has one, especially our favourite celebrities. They often give us an inside look at what is happening in their day-to-day lives. We know that with so many different sites, it can be hard remembering everyone’s usernames. Avalon Young is a singer from San Diego, California. Avalon’s love for music started young when she learned to play guitar. She was also part of the band Over The Edge in her senior year at high school.
Avalon rose to fame after auditioning for the fifteenth and final season of American Idol last year. She auditioned in San Fransisco, California with her version of Beyonce’s ‘XO’. Avalon stood out on the show for simply being herself throughout, and we all fell in love with her. As an R&B artist she chose some unique songs throughout her journey including ‘Love Yourself’ and ‘Yo (Excuse Me Miss)’ which saw her make it all the way to the top eight.
Since appearing on the show, Avalon has released her debut album Shift. The album reached number two on the R&B Chart on Itunes. Avalon has not signed to any record labels and has remained an independent artist. This has allowed her creative control over her music and in turn she has co-written every song on her album. As well as this, Avalon released her first official music video for her single ‘Favorite’ last November.
