Bebe Rexha has unveiled the music video for her latest single ‘I’m A Mess’.
Directed by Sophie Muller, the visual follows in a similar vein to Bebe’s recent performance of the track on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Set in an old school asylum complete with straightjackets and clinical white walls, the visual sees Bebe being admitted. Joined by her fellow patients, they perform some intense choreography around the building using beds and furniture as props.
There’s no doubt that the ‘I’m A Mess’ visual is incredibly powerful and we definitely consider it as Bebe’s best video yet. It seems that the song and video’s message is particularly personal to the vocal powerhouse too as she explained that it was inspired by her own experiences with mental health.
Speaking about the video in the comments section on YouTube, Bebe said: “I have been very vocal and honest about my ongoing struggle with anxiety and depression. I wanted to create a video and song that expressed my truth. This video is a celebration of me finally being able to accept my imperfections. I’m okay with not being okay all the time. If you feel alone or lost please know you are not, and you are loved.”
