Following its release last month, ‘False Alarm’, the collaboration between British singer-songwriter Becky Hill and Norwegian electronic music star Matoma, has been given a music video.
Directed by Samy Mosher, the video follows the adventures of a young couple whose shared experiences suddenly take a radical turn for the unexpected.
The blissful track captures the shimmering, summery side of Matoma’s production. It is made even more infectious by the strength of Becky’s impassioned and unique vocals.
Since its release, ‘False Alarm’ has been playlisted by Radio 1, following being picked as ‘Track of The Day’. Popjustice has described it as a “big song”, and they were right! The song is rapidly making waves globally and has amassed over 20 million plays on Spotify.
The track was written by Becky and follows her last incredible track ‘Back To My Love’, which featured Little Simz. ‘False Alarm’ is also Matoma’s latest track, which has been added to the innovative ‘Hakuna Matoma’ album project.
Of the collaboration, Becky said: “I’m so excited by False Alarm coming out this summer! I’m really glad I got to share one of the songs I’d written and collaborate with such an exciting producer like Matoma.”
Matoma added: “For me I’m just so inspired by incredible vocals, and I think Becky has one of the most special voices I’ve ever heard, it’s such an honour to collaborate with her on this track. When I heard her first demo vocal I got goosebumps, it was so good we ended up keeping it! I’m so excited about this song coming out and being the soundtrack to my summer.”
Becky Hill continues to put her stamp on the music industry, and ‘False Alarm’ is the latest in a long line of musical successes for her. She will be performing her first debut solo show in London on November 2. There will also be more music to follow from Becky in the autumn, ahead of the release of her highly anticipated debut album.
