With ‘The X Factor’ competition becoming more intense each week, Bella Penfold and Shan Ako have become the next two contestants to be eliminated from the show – narrowly missing out on a place in the Semi-Finals.

On Saturday’s Live Show – which had the theme of ‘Big Band Week’ – Bella Penfold performed a rendition of London Grammar’s ‘Strong.’ Her performance was fantastic and allowed her to showcase her vocal and rapping abilities.

Bella Penfold has been a brilliant contestants throughout the show, with her performance at the Six Chair Challenge earning her a coveted Golden Buzzer from mentor Simon Cowell, securing her a place in the Judges’ Houses.

She was unfortunately the first contestant to be voted off the show, receiving the fewest votes from the public.

Host Dermot O’Leary then announced that Shan Ako and Acacia & Aaliyah were in the sing-off. Both contestants gave performances in a bid to impress the Judges – Simon Cowell, Louis Tomlinson, Ayda Field-Williams and Nile Rodgers, who is replacing Robbie Williams, who is absent from the show due to his touring commitments.

On Saturday’s Live Show, Shan Ako performed a captivating performance of ‘Summertime.’ Her flawless, soulful vocals, captured with a live band, made an excellent performance. In an interview after her elimination, she explained that she ‘should have shown a bit more more versatility and variation in my song choices and performances.’

It was revealed in the show that the contestants who made it through to the Semi-Final would be appearing on ‘The X Factor Live Tour,’ performing at arenas across the UK & Ireland throughout February and March 2019.

However, in a shock twist, the girls’ mentor Simon Cowell announced that both Bella Penfold and Shan Ako will also be featuring on the tour.

Cheryl and Tom Walker both were special guests on the show, with Cheryl performing new single ‘Love Made Me Do It’ and Tom Walker performing his hit single ‘Leave A Light On.’

We’re sad to see Bella Penfold and Shan Ako leave the competition!

Huge congratulations to the remaining contestants who have made it to the Semi-Finals stage of the competition.
