Bella Thorne and Gregg Sulkin have officially split after more than a year of dating. The two confirmed their breakup in a joint statement via PEOPLE.
After much thought and soul-searching, we have made the difficult decision to end our relationship. We will always love each other and have a deep respect for one another, as we have each grown to be better people because of our time together. Our schedules made seeing each other difficult, and we decided that for now this would be best.
According to Bella, the two were friends for six years before they started dating. Both Bella and Gregg are from Disney Channel. Bella starred on Shake It Up!, along with Zendaya. Gregg also appeared regularly on Wizards of Waverly Place, alongside Selena Gomez. They confirmed their romantic relationship in June 2015, when Gregg accompanied Bella to the premiere of her MTV series, Scream. After a while, they even decided to move in together.
The two were very public with their relationship. Last year, they attended the Teen Choice Awards as a couple and kissed on the red carpet. They also frequently shared selfies together on Instagram.
After the news of their split spread across social media, Bella took some time to tweet fans and clear things up. She says, “Things just didn’t end up working the way we had hoped. But I’ll always love the bub.”

Although we’re sad that Bella and Gregg announced their separate ways, we’re happy to see that they still remain friends.
