Showcasing acoustic and artistic excellence, Ben Haenow has released a remarkable rendition of ‘Easy (Like Sunday Morning)’ by Commodores. It’s certainly easy to love!
With his stripped-back interpretation, the former X Factor winner beautifully captures the essence of the original while adding to the much-loved song’s depth and dimension. The acoustics elevate Ben’s tremendous and touching vocals to the forefront of the track.
Ben recorded his sensational version of ‘Easy (Like Sunday Morning)’ exclusively for Double J Music’s third ‘Café Covers‘ album. He’s joined on the record by other established singers including: Jack Savoretti, Charlie Simpson, Karen Harding, Jo O’Meara and Alexis Strum.
Discussing his newly-released Commodores cover, Ben Haenow said: “It’s always a pleasure to feature on the ‘Café Covers’ albums alongside all of the other incredible artists. The vibe is always cool and the Double J Music guys are always a dream to work with.
“Chilled acoustic covers are a favourite of mine and I love having a chance to put a more laid-back feel on classic or contemporary songs. This time it’s ‘Easy’ by Commodores which lyrically really lends itself to a more relaxed feel. My brother Alex laid down the guitar for the track. We’re both big fans of the original and it’s such a classic that we didn’t feel the need to change anything up too much, so have kept it pretty true to the original. Sometimes less is more.“
‘Cafè Covers, Vol. 3’ is available now on CD and digital here. Physical copies of the album can also be purchased in HMV stores. This third compilation in the series is the perfect follow-up to the first two instalments and it’s sure to enjoy the same spectacular levels of success.
For the first two volumes of ‘Cafè Covers’, Ben Haenow acoustically reimagined ‘Heart of Glass’ by Blondie and ‘Sexual Healing’ by Marvin Gaye. Artists featured on the previous records include: Emma Bunton, Matt Cardle, Danny Jones, Nina Nesbitt and Lemar.
With another incredible cover under his belt, Ben Haenow continues to prove that he has the ability to take any song and make it his own. The platinum selling artist, who is also a highly-skilled songwriter, has sold more than one million records worldwide and accumulated over 64 million streams on Spotify. Ben’s phenomenal talent as a live performer has seen him take to stages all over the world and he is set to ascend to even greater heights in 2024.
