By stripping everything back and focusing on the lyrics, Ben Haenow has put his own unique spin on ‘Heart of Glass’ by Blondie. His acoustic rendition is stunning from start to finish!
As well as showcasing his creative musical flair, Ben really has demonstrated his phenomenal vocal talent. He sounds fantastic. The platinum selling artist, who won The X Factor in 2014, continues to impress us with his ability to take any song and make it his own.
Ben recorded his beautiful interpretation of ‘Heart of Glass’ exclusively for Double J Music’s new ‘Café Covers‘ album. He’s joined on the record by other established singers including: Emma Bunton, Jack Savoretti, Matt Cardle, Danny Jones and Cascada.
Discussing the inspiration for his new Blondie cover, Ben Haenow said: “I wanted to do a chilled acoustic version of ‘Heart of Glass’ by Blondie because I’ve always really liked the lyrics to the song. I feel like they lend themselves to a more heartfelt and stripped back version of the original track. It’s really cool to be featured on the ‘Café Covers’ album from Double J Music and to be alongside artists like Emma Bunton and Jack Savoretti.“
‘Cafè Covers’ is available now on CD, vinyl and digital here. The record, which is currently Caffè Nero’s ‘Album of the Month’, is enjoying huge success and it reached number 21 in the Official Album Downloads Chart. As well as being available online, physical copies are on sale in HMV.
With more original material on the way and a performance lined up at London’s prestigious Royal Albert Hall, there’s lots of exciting things in store for Ben Haenow. Make sure you keep up with him via Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube.
