BENEE – just like everyone at the moment – is trying her best to spend her time in isolation by keeping herself creatively busy, which is evident in the release of her new instrumentally pleasing, electronic/alternative anthem, ‘Snail’, a bop all about her fascination with snails and the journey they take in life.
Written and recorded with her collaborator Josh Fountain shortly after New Zealand opened up from lockdown, BENEE explains that when the two of them were in lockdown, she was fascinated by snails. “There wasn’t really a lot to be doing,” she continues, “so I would spend a lot of time outside looking at snails and would think about how they’re doing their own little thing and they’re all free.”
“I just played around with the idea of being kind of like a snail and how I come out in the rain. Being stuck inside because of COVID, it’s kind of my lockdown song.”

Following on from the releases of her catchy singles, “Night Garden” & “Supalonely (Lownely)” earlier in 2020, respectively, BENEE continues to showcase her intriguing take on the pop world with her over-arching vocals and easy-to-consume instrumental beats and world of sound.
BENEE’s ‘Snail’ is now available on digital streaming platforms through Republic Records.
