‘The X Factor’ auditions are now finished – and we have been able to witness a phenomenal few weeks of talent! There is no denying that we’ve seen the good, the bad and the strange, however, we have been thoroughly entertained.
Now it’s on to the next stage of the show – Bootcamp – but not without us taking a recap of our favourite contestants from the final week of auditions!
1. Alisah Bonaobra
Alisah Bonaobra has been one of the stand-out auditionees from the series without a doubt! She travelled all the way from the Phillipines to audition for the show, describing her talent as ‘world-class.’ Alisah performed a rendition of ‘Listen’ and she was absolutely phenomenal. Louis Walsh described her as ‘adorable,’ while Nicole Scherzinger resonated with her, saying that she had connected with her. We can’t wait to see more from her!
2. Rai-Elle Williams
We instantly fell in love with Rai-Elle Williams’ sassiness and attitude during her performance – along with her incredible vocals. Despite only being sixteen years old, Rai-Elle is already a true performer. She performed ‘Sail’ by Awolnation. Even Dermot described her performance as ‘fantastic.’ Her confidence and ability to captivate both the audience and Judges made for an incredible audition – of course she sailed through to the next round!
3. In The Genetics (ITG)
Duo ITG (In The Genetics) – made up of brothers Alex and Leon Mallett – impressed the Judges with their cover of Ed Sheeran’s ‘Don’t.’ The duo come from a family that has a singing background, hence the original name! A lot of auditionees have covered an Ed Sheeran song during their initial audition, and many have managed to put their own original spin on the track – and ITG were no different. We loved their audition!
4. Berget Lewis
Soul singer Berget Lewis impressed Judges with her powerful version of ‘Purple Rain.’ She said that she needs a bigger audience, saying she needs a break, along with ‘something new.’ Sharon Osbourne described her performance as ‘tasteful’ and Nicole said that Berget was an ‘amazing soul singer and soul sister,’ also saying that while performing, Berget had a real sense of joy in her voice, something which can be lacking among singers in the industry today.
5. Jenny Ball
Talented Jenny Ball surprised Judges with her phenomenal voice. She performed a rendition of ‘Titanium’ and following her performance, Simon Cowell described her as the ‘underdog.’ Prior to her audition, her friend Johnny had auditioned, but unfortunately didn’t make it through to the next round. However, celebrations were certainly in store as all four Judges loved Jenny’s audition, gaining her a place in Bootcamp!
