Pop singer-songwriter Billy Vena releases his brand-new single, “Retro Religion,” a track lifted from his forthcoming debut EP.
Talking about the song, Billy shares, “‘Retro Religion’’ is about how no matter the amount of devotion I could possibly have for someone, it was never going to be enough for them to love me in the same way or in general.”
Originally from Panama and presently based in Converse, Texas, Billy burst onto the scene in 2020 with “Space Hippie,” “Disco Maniac,” and “Talking 2 Myself.” three intoxicating pieces of modern pop, which have been supported by Spotify Fresh Finds, hit #1 on Hype Machine and landed a synch for a nationally broadcasted television campaign for Comcast/Xfinity.
In 2021, Billy dropped the first single off of his upcoming debut EP: the quirky “Rabbit Hole (love is what you make it).” The song garnered applause from Wonderland Magazine, hit #1 on Hype Machine, and was added to Spotify’s Metropolis (700k followers). The follow-up single “Shaggy Dynamite” was premiered by C-Heads Magazine and has now amassed +300k streams.
After having spent the second half of 2021 honing his dance moves, sharing duets with Lil Nas X on the rapper’s own Tik Tok page, and being reshared on his Instagram by his favorite Casey Frey, and Beverly Hills Housewife and actress Lisa Rinna.
With more than 360,000 monthly listeners on Spotify alone, Billy Vena’s contagious sound is making big sonic waves.
