US-singer Britney Spears recently revealed on Twitter that she will take part in the second season of critically-acclaimed US TV show ‘Jane The Virgin’, which is “one of her favorite shows ever”, according to the tweet. Jennie Snyder Urman, the executive producer and creator of the show, elaborated this statement during an appearance on the Television Critics’ Association press tour. She said that the whole crew is “thrilled” Spears “agreed to appear on ‘Jane The Virgin'” and that the singer will do so starting in episode 5 of the new season.
Our favorite pop princess is going to play the nemesis of Jane’s father, Rogelio de la Vega (portrayed by Jaime Camil)- aka herself in the show’s universe- and is going to be bring more information to the long-standing feud between the two of them, according to Urman. She also mentioned that the viewers will be #TeamBritney at the end. Like, duh! Who wouldn’t be?
After the announcement, both Gina Rodriguez- who received a Golden Globe Award for the portrayal of Jane, an accidently inpregnated 23-year old- and Jaime Camil tweeted their excitement for the upcoming appearance of Spears on the show.
Whether it will be a one-off thing or maybe a multiple episode guest-arch is still written in the stars. At this point, she is booked for episode 5 only.
However it might turn out: Jane The Virgin premieres October 12 on The CW.
