After the release of his highly anticipated mixtape ‘Hope World’ on March 2nd, BTS member J-Hope has broken a global record for Korean artists.
J-Hope (real name Jung Hoseok) has become the Korean solo artist with the most number ones on iTunes, snatching up a number one spot in over 63 countries including the US and the UK.
The South Korean rapper has overtaken fellow idol rapper G-Dragon of Big Bang, who held the record for 8 months after the release of his EP ‘Kwon Jiyong’.
The title track ‘Daydream’ has also become the fastest music video to reach 1 million likes in an incredible one hour and 43 minutes, beating his own group BTS’ record with their single ‘Mic Drop’.
The rapper expressed that this mix tape has been in the works since the start of the BTS Wings Tour last February, however some songs, such as ‘Blue Side’ have been prepared for around three years.
Congratulations are in order for J-Hope on his incredible achievement.
