Earlier today, BTS member Jungkook released a cover of David Guetta’s “2U.” The original track, which features Justin Bieber on vocals, is from Guetta’s upcoming seventh studio album.
The BTS Twitter account first shared a preview of the cover last week, with the caption “…coming.” Fans immediately speculated that the full cover would debut on August 31st, in celebration of Jungkook’s 20th birthday. On early Thursday morning, the group released the cover for free through Soundcloud and then proceeded to share it on both their blog and social media sites.

This isn’t the first time the group’s youngest member has covered a Justin Bieber song. In February of last year, he shared a cover of “Nothing Like Us,” which is the bonus track off of Bieber’s 2013 album Believe Acoustic. In interviews done in the United States, Jungkook has also repeatedly expressed his interest to collaborate with Bieber, as well as Charlie Puth, whom he also covered in the past with “We Don’t Talk Anymore.”
As BTS continue to gain popularity in the United States, the group has met with several Western celebrities such as Diplo, MAJOR LAZER, and most recently, Ansel Elgort. Although some fans have guessed that a musical collaboration may happen between BTS, Diplo, and MAJOR LAZER, nothing has been confirmed. However, Diplo did caption a photo of himself and BTS with “About to make a movie with my Korean squad.”
Whether a collaboration may be in the works or not, fans will have a taste of BTS’ new music with the release of their upcoming project Love Yourself: Her, which will be their first album to be released through Amazon. The change will make it easier for fans in North America to order their music online without having to pay too much for shipping costs. Fans can pre-order the album now.
Love Yourself: Her will be available for purchase on September 18th.
